Terms of Service By placing an order with the chocolate co-op, you are agreeing to the following terms of service: Special Notice Regarding International Orders To reduce the potential for fraud, until further notice the chocolate co-op is not accepting credit card orders placed with billing addresses outside the United States and Canada -- however orders via PayPal to verified addresses outside the US and Canada are accepted. Billing When you pay by credit card, orders from the co-op will be identified as coming from pureorigin on your statement. When you pay via PayPal, your payment goes to WebWideGuides, Inc. pureorigin is a d/b/a of WebWideGuides. How The Chocolate Co-Op Works Chocolate is a perishable product and chocolate sellers mark up everything they sell in order to cover the inevitable "wastage" of chocolate that passes its expiration date. The Chocolate Co-Op minimizes this risk by inventorying as little chocolate as possible. In most instances, when we post an offer, we do not have the chocolate physically in our storage facility. Instead, we take orders for a period of time (usually no more than two weeks) and then place one large order with various importers and distributors, most of whom have fairly hefty minimum order requirements. By operating this way we can charge less for the chocolate we sell. Timeliness For the reasons stated above, it may be anywhere from three days to three weeks from the time you place your order until it is shipped. Three days assumes you place your order on a Friday and the chocolate is in stock (we ship on Mondays and Tuesdays, usually). In an extreme case, the co-op may need to place an order for chocolate that is in short supply, is temporarily out of stock, or for some other reasons needs to be special ordered from a supplier in Europe. In hot weather, we reserve the right to hold your shipment temporarily to ensure that it will arrive safely. If a hot weather shipping delay extends more than a couple of days we will contact you via e-mail to let you know the status of your order. The Shopping Cart The Chocolate Co-Op uses a secure third-party service provided by Americart (www.americart.com) for its shopping cart. We do everything we can to protect your privacy and the security of any sensitive information that you provide to us. Billing and Credit Card and Payment Processing The Chocolate Co-Op uses various third-party services to process credit card and other payment methods. We do everything we can to protect your privacy and any sensitive information that you provide to us. We have reason to believe that all of the third party service providers we use are at least as serious as we are about protecting your privacy. If you have an issue, please e-mail us at customerservice@pureorigin.com. Your credit card or other account will be charged no earlier than when the co-op places its bulk orders with suppliers; the co-op becomes liable for the entire amount ordered at this time. Your card is not charged until your order actually ships. |
